Using Squidoo to Market Your Products
Squidoo is the ‘brain-child’ of bestselling author, blogger and speaker, Seth Godin. Seth’s purpose in developing Squidoo “is to make it easy for people to create free pages (called “lenses”) on their interests, and to earn royalties for their good content.”
Squidoo is a popular on-line publishing platform (and community) that makes it easy to create “lenses”. “Lenses are pages, kind of like flyers or signposts or overview articles, that gather everything you know about your topic of interest–and snap it all into focus.” NOTE: Taken from “Getting Started with Squidoo”
Creating your own min-site is super simple, fun and powerful way to share your products or crafts, build your online identity and credibility, and connect with new readers and friends. Squidoo is free and you can even generate a small income for yourself or charity!
To get started with Squidoo, open a membership and follow the simple tutorial to create your own lens. Pretty simple! And Squidoo offers numerous different modules where you can add text, images, videos and links. Since Squidoo is free, it is the perfect venue to advertise and promote your business or products. Personally, I have build Squidoo lens on a variety of interests related to my business. My most viewed lens so far is my lens for our Camping forks. In the summer, my Wild Huckleberry Lovers lens tops the list. I also have lens on some different product lines I have repped for as well as a few affiliate products I sell. The opportunities available with Squidoo is limited only by your imagination and creativity!
