How to Create Wealth in 2013

Greetings, and Happy New Year to you!

Been enjoying the last week.  After all the parties and family get togethers, we managed to get snowed in.  So that gave me time to relax with a couple books, some videos and some nice soft holiday music.  Although I am not a winter person, I do enjoy the first snows — especially if I am indoors!!

For my last post of the year, I wanted to share an article by Dr. Andy Fuehl that was posted on one of my favorite inspirational website:  Nightingale Conant.

Businessman ThinkingDr. Fuehl talks about three primary principles to success and wealth:

  1. Master your mindset.
  2. Know your purpose in life.
  3. Find a vehicle that will express your purpose in life.

Sounds pretty simple, right — but our society teaches us the exact opposite ….

So lets look at how he explains the three principles:

First you must master your mindset. … Mindset is all about controlling your thoughts. Thinking like an entrepreneur is an absolute requirement in order to succeed. Most of us have been trained to think like an employee. Thoughts of an employee will keep you from creating the wealth that you want and desire. …

Entrepreneurs get paid to solve problems. People are willing to pay to have their problems solved, and they will pay handsomely and gladly. Being a problem solver is much different from being directed what to do and how to do it. It’s a 180-degree shift in thinking.

Entrepreneurs are paid to solve problems, he says, whereas employees are paid to take orders.  Does this sound familiar?  Do you solve problems or are you waiting for someone to tell you what to do?

Second, you must know what your purpose in life is. Your purpose in life is your God-given gift that no one else but you can provide others. Even if your purpose in life is similar to someone else’s, it doesn’t matter. There is a set of customers waiting for what you have to offer that only you can deliver.

Your purpose in life is what gives you the energy, persistence, and drive necessary to overcome obstacles and adversity that you’ll encounter in your journey. It’s literally the gas that fuels your vehicle. It’s what helps you get up in the morning and do what’s necessary to win.

Do you know what your purpose in life is?  Or what your special talent is?  And how is this special purpose reflected in your work?  Purpose or vision is what gives us drive.  Personally, it is what I was not allowed to have when I worked for someone else, but have been developing over the years as a self employee person.

Lastly, you must find a vehicle that expresses your purpose in life. Notice that your vehicle is the last thing on the list that you require in order to succeed. It’s important, but it is far less important than the first two elements.

When you choose a vehicle that expresses your purpose in life, it must be a clear fit. If you believe that it may not be the best fit in any way, then avoid that particular vehicle. You most likely are looking at that vehicle focusing on the money aspect first instead of expressing your true purpose in life.

There are numerous vehicles that you can use to express your purpose in life if you allow yourself to think outside the box. Most of the time we assume our vehicle must be in alignment with our gifts and talents or what we are naturally good at doing. This may not necessarily be the case.

So what about your vehicle?  Have you thought that one through?
