Eleanor Roosevelt was an American politician, diplomat, and activist. 
She was the longest-serving First Lady of the United States, having held the post from March 1933 to April 1945 during her husband President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s four terms in office, and served as United States Delegate to the United Nations General Assembly from 1945 to 1952. President Harry S. Truman later called her the “First Lady of the World” in tribute to her human rights achievements. (Wikipedia)

My grandmother once told me that old people become senile when they decide to quit learning. Although she has been gone for over 30 years, this concept is one of the things I remember most about her.
What does this have to do with Eleanor’s quote above?
I think that learning and growing go hand in hand. When we search for answers, we begin to learn the secrets of life — whether we go within or outside for the wisdom of of others. And when we take this search to heart, we begin to reshape our lives.
This is what my grandmother was trying to tell me: When we stop searching or stop learning, we stop growing. And when we stop growing, we lose who we truly are.
