Maya Angelou born Marguerite Annie Johnson; April 4, 1928 – May 28, 2014) was an American poet, memoirist, and civil rights activist. She published seven autobiographies, three books of essays, several books of poetry, and was credited with a list of plays, movies, and television shows spanning over 50 years. I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.
Do you remember how your felt on one of your first dates …. You know the one where the guy opens the door for you and the girl treats you like you are the only man on earth for her?
We all love to be treated like Queens (or Kings). So it is important to treat your customers, associates, partners and employee with the same respect and admiration.
No matter what wonderful thing you did or said to someone, what they really remember is how you made them feel.
Try spreading that feeling to the people who are around you today and see what happens!!

Just surviving life is not really living. Each of us possess the potential to express passion in what we do; compassion in dealing with ourselves and others; humor to get us through the day with a smile on our faces; and style to be worthy of respect from others.
What a wonderful creed to live by and no wonder Maya was such a fine and dignified lady. She thrived not only as a wonderful human being but as a powerful woman, entertainer, writer and activist.
How do you show passion, compassion, humor and style in your life? Those activities is what makes a great life from a mediocre life with no meaning!
Many of us do not realize how much control we really have over our lives and circumstances.
If you don’t like something, just change it! Sounds easy enough. But during the times that we can’t change our circumstances, we just need to change our attitude about it.
We see this all the time in relationships — business as well as personal! If we don’t like working with a particular buyer, we can decide not to sell to them. It is our choice!
On the other hand, if we do not have the option to discontinue working with certain people we don’t like, we can chose to see those people differently. Maybe they are not as intolerable as we think. If we change how we view them, we impact the relationship in a positive way.
