The secret of success is learning how to use pain and pleasure instead of having pain and pleasure use you. If you do that, you’re in control of your life. If you don’t, life controls you.
Does Tony mean that the ability to use pain and pleasure the same as controlling your emotions? I don’t think it is quite the same thing.
We all experience pain and pleasure — it is what makes us human. And we all have emotions …. but learning how to use these feelings and emotions positively is what I think Tony means.
When we get angry or upset about something, we can decide how we want to react to those emotions.
If we control our response and, instead, look at what we can learn through the situation, I think we begin to control our lives better.
Reflect on that next time something unpleasant comes your way!
A real decision is measured by the fact that you’ve taken a new action. If there’s no action, you haven’t truly decided… It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.
Our decisions, of course, effect every area of our lives. But then so does our indecision!
I am notorious for ‘sitting on the fence’ about some decisions. After all, once I take that ‘leap’, there may be no coming back…. Or so I say to rationalize my inaction!
Then, on the other hand, if I don’t make that decision and act on it, I may miss out on some of the most exciting times of my life.
Tony says that our destiny is shaped by our decisions. What decisions are you making today that can positively affect your destiny in a power manner?
Success comes from taking the initiative and following up… persisting… eloquently expressing the depth of your love. What simple action could you take today to produce a new momentum toward success in your life?
I love it …. taking the initiative, following up and being persistent is all expressing the depths of your love, according to Tony.
All these things we, as business owner, do on a daily basis is expressing our love …. for our customers, vendors, employees, and any partners we work with.
What an exhilarating perspective!
Let’s follow Tony’s lead and see what action we can take in love to move us toward success in life!!
