Inspirational Biz Quote from Mary Kay Ash

Today’s business tip is from … Mary Kay Ash
Mary Kay Ash

Mary Kay Ash (May 12, 1918 – November 22, 2001) was an American businesswoman and founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics, Inc.  Ash went to work for Stanley Home Products. Frustrated when passed over for a promotion in favor of a man that she had trained, Ash retired in 1963 and intended to write a book to assist women in business. The book turned into a business plan for her ideal company, and in the fall of 1963, Mary Kay Ash launched Mary Kay Cosmetics.

“Pretend that every single person you meet has a sign around his or her neck that says, ‘Make me feel important.’ Not only will you succeed in sales, you will succeed in life.”

Mary Kay -- You Can Have It AllObviously, Mary Kay knew how to treat people.  She understood the value of people and how to make them feel they were valuable.

Another of her quotes, along the same lines:

“No matter how busy you are, you must take time to make the other person feel important.”

How many times have you used this to encourage your children.  Or how about when an employee did an extraordinary job on a task.

Let’s follow Mary Kay’s example and treat everyone we meet as important as they are!
