William Franklin Graham Jr. KBE (November 7, 1918 – February 21, 2018) was an American evangelical Christian evangelist and an ordained Southern Baptist minister who became well known internationally after 1949. He has been looked upon as one of the most influential preachers of the 20th century. He held large indoor and outdoor rallies with sermons that were broadcast on radio and television, some still being re-broadcast into the 21st century.
“The greatest legacy one can pass on to one’s children and grandchildren is not money or other material things accumulated in one’s life, but rather a legacy of character and faith.”
With the passing of one of the greatest evangelists of the 20th century, I decided to honor his life by highlight some of his greatest inspirational quotes.
In his quote above, he challenges us to look at what is important in life! Not necessarily money or possessions, but the character and faith we live and portray in our lives.
Such a timely message during a troubled time in our country where money seems to buy people and decisions and character is no longer valued.
Let’s spend the next week letting go of any preconceived feelings we harbor about any person or religious belief and instead, explore together some of the traits and actions that Billy considered to be worthwhile pursuits.
