Inspirational Quote from Friedrick Nietzsche

Today’s business tip is from …Inspirational Quote from Friedrick Nietzsche
Friedrick Nietzsche

Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche (15 October 1844 – 25 August 1900) was a German philosopher, cultural critic, composer, poet, philologist, and a Latin and Greek scholar whose work has exerted a profound influence on Western philosophy and modern intellectual history.  He began his career as a classical philologist before turning to philosophy. He became the youngest ever to hold the Chair of Classical Philology at the University of Basel in 1869 at the age of 24. Nietzsche resigned in 1879 due to health problems that plagued him most of his life; he completed much of his core writing in the following decade.

“That which does not kill us makes us stronger.”

Finally!  After 60 some years, I finally found the person who originally said that famous phrase!!

Seems to me that my mother quoted these words to me many, many times as I was growing up!  At the time, I found them cold and uncaring, but now that I am older I understand how this works.

Beyond Good and Evil by Friedrick NietzscheWe learn by enduring the fiery trials of life.  When we hang in there, the trials of life will teach us important lessons.  But if we give up or walk away, we learn nothing — or maybe we learn to just quit when the going gets tough.

This quote also reminds me of a Bible verse from I Corinthians 10:13:

“He (God) will not suffer you to be tempted beyond that which ye are able to bear”

Put those two quotes together, and you have an encouraging look at the trials of life.

What can you do today to implant in your mind that the rough times of life pass as you stand firm?
