Today’s Business tip …
from John McCain
John Sidney McCain III (August 29, 1936 – August 25, 2018) was an American statesman and military officer who served as a United States Senator from Arizona from January 1987 until his death. He previously served two terms in the United States House of Representatives and was the Republican nominee for President of the United States in the 2008 election, which he lost to Barack Obama.
“Every day, people serve their neighbors and our nation in many different ways, from helping a child learn and easing the loneliness of those without a family to defending our freedom overseas. It is in this spirit of dedication to others and to our country that I believe service should be broadly and deeply encouraged.”
With the recent passing of John McCain, I find his words to be timeless and touching.
Service to our country, according to John, is more than becoming a soldier. He saw it as helping those less fortunate — whether the help is needed to those having difficulty in learning to those dealing with loneliness over the lost of a loved one.
Maybe each of us can make this world a better place by giving such service to our fellowman, our customers and our vendors in our business!
I want to close this section by one final piece of wisdom which applies to our situation today:
“Our shared values define us more than our differences. And acknowledging those shared values can see us through our challenges today if we have the wisdom to trust in them again.”
