Today’s Business Tip from…
Simon Oliver Sinek (born October 9, 1973) is a British-American author, motivational speaker and organizational consultant. He has written four books, with a fifth scheduled for release in October, 2018. His first book, Start With Why, was published October 2009. His second book, called Leaders Eat Last, appeared on the best seller lists of the Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.
“Champions are not the ones who always win races – champions are the ones who get out there and try. And try harder the next time. And even harder the next time. ‘Champion’ is a state of mind. They are devoted. They compete to best themselves as much if not more than they compete to best others. Champions are not just athletes.”
They are the ones who keep hanging in there despite the obstacles, the failures, and the criticism from outsiders.
When was the last time you considered yourself a champion? Every day you get up and start again, you are a champion!
People become failures only when they decide to stop or give up! You or I can’t be champions if we walk away when things don’t go the way we want! We get up and try again!!
In closing, I want to add one last quote about leadership (and, by the way, we are all leaders!):
“A leader’s job is not to do the work for others, it’s to help others figure out how to do it themselves, to get things done, and to succeed beyond what they thought possible.”
