Inspirational Quotes about Memorial Day

Memorial Day (or less commonly called Decoration Day) is a federal Inspirational Quotes about Memorial Dayholiday in the United States for remembering and honoring people who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. The holiday, which is currently observed every year on the last Monday of May, was most recently held on May 28, 2018. Memorial Day was previously observed on May 30 from 1868 to 1970.  Memorial Day is considered the unofficial start of the summer vacation season in the United States, while Labor Day marks its end on the first Monday of September.

For years, Memorial Day weekend was the date I honored for the beginning of tourist season.

Being a sales rep for so long, I knew I needed to contact all my buyers to make sure they ordered product in plenty of time to have on hand for the weekend.

It also meant working non-stop from March (or late February, depending on the weather) until this weekend:  My first time off from traveling!

This year is different.  With my wholesale business sold, I feel a bit nostalgic about the holiday.

Thankfully, I did not know anyone who fought and died in the armed forces.  Although, I knew of several from my generation and my children’s generation that came back broken in body and spirit.

I would like to honor all veterans this weekend with the quote from former president JFK (above) and Joseph Campbell (below):
