Inspirational Thoughts from Sophia Amoruso

Sophia Christina Amoruso (born April 20, 1984) is an American Inspirational Thoughts from Sophia Amorusobusinesswoman. Amoruso was born in San Diego, California and moved to Sacramento, California after High school, soon after relocating to San Francisco. Amoruso founded Nasty Gal, a women’s fashion retailer, which went on to be named one of “the fastest-growing companies” by Inc. Magazine in 2012. In 2016, she was named one of the richest self-made women in the world by Forbes. However, Nasty Gal filed for bankruptcy, decimating her fortune. In 2014 Amoruso created Girlboss Media, a resource for women in the millennial generation to progress as people in their personal and professional life.

“A great mantra to have, whether you’re breaking up with your boyfriend or you lose your job, or something changes that you didn’t anticipate – which is a fact of life, and very much a fact of running a business – is: ‘I was OK before this, I will be OK after this.'”

If you watched the one season of GirlBoss on Netflix, you are probably familiar with Sophia Amoruso.  An interesting story and an interesting entrepreneur!

Her quote above seems appropriate during these challenging times.  Maybe things look bleak right now.  But if your business was ‘okay’ before this time, it will probably be ‘okay’ when we work through this.

Tough times always challenge our ingenuity and our perspective on life.  During the last weeks, I’ve discovered ways to connect with our customers that I did not think about before this time.

Challenge yourself to use this time to discover ways to look at your business differently to ensure you come out ‘okay’ when this is over.

I would like to share one final quote from Sophia Amoruso:

“I want to give other creatives the opportunity to find the entrepreneur inside themselves and teach them how to build their own platform.”
