Inspirational Words from Cindy Gallop

Lucinda “Cindy” Lee Gallop (born 1 February 1960)[1] is an English advertising consultant, founder and former chair of the US branch ofInspirational Words from Cindy Gallop advertising firm Bartle Bogle Hegarty, and founder of the IfWeRanTheWorld and MakeLoveNotPorn companies.  Gallop worked as a theatre publicist and marketer in England for several years before switching careers to advertising.  According to the TED blog, Gallop’s TEDTalk “Make Love Not Porn” was one of the “most talked about presentations” at the 2009 TED conference. She lives in New York City.

“If I ran the world, I would find a way to bring the wealth of human good intentions and corporate good intentions together – to activate them collectively into shared action against shared objectives that produces shared hard, tangible results.”

I find it very heartwarming that someone with fame and fortune, such as Cindy Gallop, would have such a lofty goal for man (and woman) kind.

To me, bringing good intentions out of anyone is a beautiful goal.  Sometimes, I feel we, as a whole, take way too much effort trying to be productive just to make money.  Maybe there is a better way!

In all honesty, it has been my goal to be helpful to everyone I come in contact with during my daily dealings.  When I was a traveling rep, I knew that looking out for my retail store buyers helped me generate more sales.  Of course, there were moments when that philosophy backfired on me.  But, I went to sleep at night, knowing I had done the best I could.

I don’t get everything right in life.  Although, maybe if we took Cindy Gallop’s approach, we would help create a happier world.

I would like to share one final quote from Cindy Gallop — which may explain her success and notoriety in the business world:

“Anyone who has worked with me knows that I am extremely action-oriented. I’m all about making things happen.”
