Tell Your Story

Do you tell your story to potential buyers and customers?

A few weeks ago, I was coaching 1-on-1 with a producer helping him to expand his business.  When we first started the meeting, I, as always, let him present himself and his business.  I was fascinated with his story on how he got started and why he developed his products.  Once he was done, I told him it was a wonderful story, but wondered why this story was not on his website — nor was there an About page listed on his very professional-looking site.

Sharing your story is the way we can connect with our readers/visitors. Our stories make us human — it is also one of the best ways to standTell Your Story out from the big box stores! And the best place to share tell your story is on your About Page on your website.

Many people don’t realize that the About page is often the most read section of their website.  This is where you can tell your story and explain who you are. If you do not have an About page, you are denying your visitors of a critical message about you and your business.

Below is what Jane Ambrose Button from Creative Product Blueprint says about sharing your story:

WHAT’S YOUR STORY?

One of the most powerful product marketing strategies is telling your story.

Why? Because people buy from people… and people want to know more about the people they are buying from. And this doesn’t just matter if you’re a small “maker” business or a larger more visible company.<

Who you are, and what your company stands for makes a difference. When you become relatable to your market, they become your customers, your advocates and your loyal followers.

And what better way to tell people why you do what you do; or how you built your business; or what drives you as a company; or how you want to make an impact than to TELL YOUR STORY.

Do you have a story? Please share it below so we know more about you!”
