Today’s Special Tip onInspirational Quote on the International Day of Peace
the International Day of Peace

The International Day of Peace, sometimes unofficially known as World Peace Day, is a United Nations-sanctioned holiday observed annually on 21 September. It is dedicated to world peace, and specifically the absence of war and violence, such as might be occasioned by a temporary ceasefire in a combat zone for humanitarian aid access. The day was first celebrated in 1982, and is kept by many nations, political groups, military groups, and people. In 2013 the day was dedicated by the Secretary-General of the United Nations to peace education, the key preventive means to reduce war sustainably

“On this International Day, let us promise to make peace not just a priority, but a passion. Let us pledge to do more, wherever we are in whatever way we can, to make every day a day of peace.”

~ Ban Ki-moon

Inspirational Quote for the International Day of PeaceEach year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples. (International Day of Peace)

The theme this year commemorates the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human rights:  “The Right to Peace – The Universal Declaration of Human Rights at 70”

Various organizations are celebrating and commemorating this yearly event with proclamations, special speeches along with moments of dedicated prayer and reflection.

For myself, I chose to recognize that peace starts with me.  I believe that peace is not something an organization, church or government can mandate, but a decision that each of us can make individually as our expression in the world.  When we all decide to greet life with peace, it spreads everywhere to everyone.

Let’s all do our part to bring about peace but heading this one final quote:

“It is not the world that needs peace, it is people. When people in the world are at peace within, the world will be at peace.”
