Sandy Dell is an experienced independent sales representative for the gift industry. Operating her own successful repping and online wholesale business – Idaho Gifts Wholesale – for over 15 years, she’s gained extensive, relevant knowledge on how to sell and work effectively with gifts store buyers. She is also co-owner (with her husband Malcolm) of Gourmet Innovations – manufacturer and distributor of fine gourmet foods and gifts. For anybody interested in Sandy’s Wholesale Business Consultation service I’d like to share my experience.
In short – this was EXACTLY what I needed to give me the peace of mind that was preventing me launching.
Even before I began the consultation I started to benefit. I actually booked my hours appointment weeks ago. It took me forever to get myself prepared enough to be able to explain my business plan. The work needed to explain clearly how my business would run gave me a wonderful clarity of mind.
I was a little embarrassed that I’d sent … over 35 pages before the consultation began! Half of these were legal documents and just skimming through them probably took up the full hour of the consultation time I’d paid for. Mercifully for me Sandy didn’t charge any extra for this preparation time.
…I had prepared a long list of questions and I was amazed by how straightforward the answers to many of them were.
Some questions had been stressing me out for weeks and yet suddenly within 60 minutes they were all just deflating one after the other.
As you might have perceived from (her) writings, Sandy (is) very personable. They put me immediately at ease and I never felt I was asking dumb questions and they took their time helping me understand anything I was unfamiliar with.
The most valuable few snippets of information I gained from the consultation included:
– The benefits of creating a welcome package for my new sales reps.
– Loads of tweaks to my complex sales rep agreement
– An entirely new market I’d never considered before
– The value of me being represented at Trade Shows in January.
By the end of the consultation I was fired with enthusiasm. Since then I’ve been waking up excited to continue work, I’ve gained the confidence to actually speak to reps on the phone without fearing they’d see me as a novice and we’re just a few days away from having all our paperwork, admin, welcome packs, website and marketing materials finalized.
